Sheepskin for standard walls, foam for a smooth finish, fine for ceilings. The pile length affects the texture.

Apply with criss-cross strokes, don't overload the roller, and work on a clean, prepared surface.

The roller is more accessible and gives a matte or satin finish. The spray gun offers a smoother finish but requires equipment.

The pile thickness of the roller influences the paint finish. For a smooth finish, opt for a fine-pile roller (4-8 mm). For a more textured finish, prefer a medium-pile roller (12-18 mm). Long-pile rollers (18-25 mm) are better suited for rough surfaces.

Before roller painting, make sure to properly prepare the wall. Start by cleaning it to remove any dirt or dust. Then fill any holes and cracks with filler. Lightly sand the surface for a uniform finish.

The amount of paint needed depends on the surface to be painted and the product's thickness. Generally, allow 1 liter of paint for 10 m² of smooth surface. Adjust this estimate based on the wall's condition and porosity, as well as the paint's coverage.

To keep your roller in good condition, it is essential to clean it thoroughly after each use. Start by removing excess paint by squeezing it out. Then rinse the roller with warm water and soap, making sure to rinse it well until the water runs clear. Let it dry completely before storing it.

Roller painting has many advantages: it is quick to implement, allows for uniform application, and prevents drips. Additionally, the roller allows you to easily reach large surfaces, such as the walls of large rooms. It is therefore a particularly suitable technique for large-scale painting projects.
